Sunergise installs 125-kW solar array at Fiji supermarket

Oct 17, 2013 - The Fiji arm of pan-Pacific solar power utility Sunergise said Thursday it had completed a 125-kW rooftop solar system at the Jet Point supermarket of RB Patel Group Ltd in Nadi, Fiji.

The project comes in line with the retail group’s green efforts. According to the press release, the photovoltaic system will meet a “significant portion” of RB Patel’s power needs during the day. When solar power is not enough, the supermarket will use electricity from Fiji Electricity Authority’s power grid.

Sunergise Fiji Ltd developed the project, while solar engineer Clay Energy took care of the installation works.

Ajay Raniga, director of Sunergise Fiji, said that by the end of this month the company will wrap up fiver other solar projects in Fiji similar to that in Nadi.
