Chinese photovoltaic (PV) inverter and energy storage system provider Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) has received an order to supply an inverter solution to renewable energy developer Atlas Renewable Energy for a 902-MWp photovoltaic (PV) project in Brazil.

The deal calls for the delivery of 75 units of 8.8 MW and 18 units of 6.6 MW of its Sungrow’s 1+X modular inverter solution, the Chinese firm said on Tuesday, adding that this equipment combines the advantages of central and string inverters.

In addition to the inverters, Sungrow will deliver power transformers, medium voltage switchgears and auxiliary systems. The Chinese company is also in charge of cold and hot commissioning services as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) training.

Located in the municipality of Janauba, in Minas Gerais state, the Vista Alegre PV project is scheduled for grid connection in 2025. It will be capable of generating 2 TWh of clean electricity per year, enough to meet the demand of 1 million families.

Once in operation, the solar facility will deploy its output under a 21-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Albras, the largest producer of primary aluminium in Brazil.
