Nordic-Baltic TSOs conclude pre-feasibility study for hydrogen corridor
Sep 09, 2024 10:43 CESTEstonian renewables developer Sunly will build solar installations at 100 cell towers of the Estonian branch of Swedish telecommunications group Telia, the companies said.
Under the agreement, signed last week, the solar systems will have 36 panels each and a combined capacity of 1.8 MW. To be deployed between this spring and the end of 2024, the arrays will be able to generate 1.8 GWh per year, 70% of which will be used by the cell towers and the remainder sold to the grid.
Sunly will provide a full-service lease to Telia Estonia, which will not have to invest in the equipment.
“We had already secured renewable electricity through Guarantees of Origin, but by increasing solar production we will add new renewable electricity to the system and allow tens of thousands of Telia customers to use mobile services powered by solar energy this year,” said Telia Estonia chief executive Holger Haljand.
