Suzlon Energy to transfer Bosnian wind farm development rights to unnamed investor

Indian renewable energy solutions provider Suzlon Energy said that it has signed a concession agreement amendment to transfer the development rights of the 25 MW Ivan Sedlo wind farm in Bosnia to an unnamed investor.

“As part of regular business operations, we have signed a concession agreement amendment to transfer the development rights of the wind farm to a third-party investor who may develop the wind farm going further," the company told SeeNews in an statement on Tuesday.

Last week the Sarajevo Canton government quoted the CEO of Suzlon Wind Energy BH, Samir Dzaferbegovic, as saying that the construction of the Ivan Sedlo wind farm could begin in August. The wind farm could be launched for trials next year and commissioned in 2023, he added, as quoted by the cantonal government.

Suzlon was initially expected to launch construction works on the project in 2019.

In 2018, when the concession deal for the construction and operation of the wind farm was signed, the Sarajevo cantonal government said that the concession contract can be renewed for up to 15 years.

The wind farm is located in Ivan Sedlo mountain pass, some 20 km west of Sarajevo. The Sarajevo Canton is one of 10 cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of two entities in the country. The other is the Serb Republic.
