World set to install 593 GW of new solar in 2024 - Ember
Sep 19, 2024 13:28 CESTFeb 7, 2013 - Swiss certification and inspection group SGS (VTX:SGSN) said yesterday it acquired German private provider of biogas, stack and fugitive emission testing services Umweltanalytik RUK GmbH.
The purchase price was not disclosed. Through the transaction SGS enters the renewable energy market.
Umweltanalytik RUK was founded in 1991. It has 17 employees and its 2012 revenue totalled EUR 2 million (USD 2.7m).
Last year SGS’ revenue grew by 16.3% to CHF 5.6 billion (USD 6.2bn/EUR 4.5bn) and was boosted by takeovers among other things.
