Syria has opened bids in tenders for the construction of three solar photovoltaic (PV) parks with a combined capacity of 67 MW, official documents show.

The Public Establishment of Electricity for Generation (PEEG) of the Syrian Arab Republic has floated three separate tenders, all of which with a deadline for submitting bids by August 10, 2020. Winners in them will be tasked with the design, installation and commissioning of the power plants, as well as with the supply of spare parts and personnel training.

The first tender is for a 40-MW solar farm at the Jandar combined cycle power plant in Homs Governorate, while the second one concerns a 23-MW PV park that will be installed near Damascus. The third tender involves the construction of a 4-MW plant in Hama Governorate.

All projects will be developed on a turnkey basis. The larger schemes will be installed in several sections.
