CIP completes construction of 300-MW Taiwanese offshore wind farm
Sep 05, 2024 9:51 CESTTaiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs today released its applicant rankings for the country’s Round 3.2 offshore wind tender, which drew six companies in total.
Among the unveiled names are units of Synera Renewable Energy (formerly Swancor Renewable Energy), Denmark’s Ørsted A/S, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
The six developers, in order of ranking by the ministry, are: Youde Wind Power Co Ltd, Haiguang Power Generation Co Ltd, Greater Changhua Northeast Offshore Wind Power Co Ltd, Feng Miao No 2 Offshore Wind Power Co Ltd, Haidingyi Wind Power Co Ltd, and Deshuai Wind Power Co Ltd.
The ministry said in a statement that due to the overlapping scope of some project sites, it is yet to notify each developer of the exact capacity it will be awarded. This is expected to happen “as soon as possible.”
Synera acknowledged the ranking in a separate statement, saying that its 800-MW Formosa 6 project off the coast of Changhua County had “successfully earned recognition and excelled in various evaluations.”
Taiwan’s current installed wind power capacity has reached 2.69 GW, the ministry noted.
