French independent renewable power producer Technique Solaire Group said on Monday that it has acquired ten ready-to-build (RTB) solar photovoltaic projects in the Netherlands and Spain, adding a total of 58 MWp to its international pipeline, and announced some other news from those countries.

The acquisition in the Netherlands enabled Technique Solaire to get a hold of 26 MWp, distributed between a 15-MWp project in Beuningen and an 11-MWp development in Druten.

Beuningen, which is Technique Solaire’s largest project in Europe in terms of installed capacity, has been under construction since some time in the first quarter of 2024.

While in the Netherlands, the group commissioned a 7-MWp floating solar farm at a recreational park called BillyBird Park Drakenrijk located in Limburg province. The plant covers 4.3 hectares of water surface and can produce 6.4 GWh of electricity annually, Technique Solaire said.

The group’s Dutch portfolio now consists of 37 MWp of capacity in operation and under construction. Its plan for this market include making investments of EUR 84 million (USD 90.3m) to reach over 100 MWp of capacity by 2030.

In Spain, Technique Solaire finalised the acquisition of eight RTB solar projects with a combined capacity of 32 MWp. All of these schemes are located in the region of Aragon.

Technique Solaire expects to commission the solar farms in early 2025.

The group also announced the appointment of Ignacio Rebollo as its Country Director in Spain. Rebollo will shepherd the newly-acquired projects and also lead Technique Solaire’s expansion in the country.

Technique Solaire aims to have more than 600 MWp of operational capacity in Spain by 2030. This effort will by accompanied by investments worth EUR 494 million.
