Solar developer Teralight (TASE:TRLT) has launched the biggest floating photovoltaic (PV) solar farm in Israel, a 31-MW installation situated on the Kibbutz Maayan Zvi reservoirs in the northern part of the country.

The Ma’ayan Zvi project spans about 587 dunams (587,000 sq m). It is equipped with trackers, provided by local company Xfloat, according to a statement.

Xfloat separately said the array consists of 45,000 floats and 20,000 solar panels.

Teralight realised the NIS-130-million (USD 33.9m/EUR 31.61m) project in partnership with Senergy Renewable Energy and the Hof HaCarmel Water Association as part of a policy led by the Carmel Coast Regional Council for the roofing of waterways and reservoirs.

Teralight has a portfolio of more than 1.5 GW of solar projects at different stages of development as well as 2.4 GWh of storage.
