Infener to set up 20-MW green hydrogen hub in Germany
Sep 17, 2024 14:59 CESTTree Energy Solutions (TES), a Dutch green energy company focused on electric natural gas (e-NG) derived from green hydrogen, and ZEG Power, which specialises in clean hydrogen production from natural gas, will consider joining forces for green hydrogen production in Germany.
The companies have signed a letter of intent (LoI) to consider TES adopting ZEG’s hydrogen production technology integrated with carbon capture.

Under the LoI, ZEG has been assigned a feasibility study to assess the viability of implementing its technology and to evaluate the technical, economic and environmental aspects of deploying an initial demonstration plant, a joint press statement said today.
The feasibility study is expected to be launched in September, with results anticipated within the next six months.
TES applies a green hydrogen model that uses solar and wind energy in low-cost areas with abundant resources. The green hydrogen is then combined with climate-neutral carbon dioxide (CO2) and transformed into e-NG.
The company is currently also developing a green energy hub in the German port of Wilhelmshaven. Earlier this year, it raised EUR 140 million (USD 155.2m) to advance its global pipeline.
ZEG’s flagship ZEG ICCTM technology is based on sorption-enhanced reforming and was originally developed at Norway's Institute for Energy Technology (IFE). The company recently launched the world’s first commercial clean hydrogen production plant with integrated carbon capture in Norway.
