Romania's CIS Group to build 23-MW solar park at home
Sep 19, 2024 9:59 CESTEnergy assets operator TESLA 50Hz has been contracted to install 40 MW of solar arrays atop the industrial facilities of Romanian properties developer Element Industrial (ELI).
The Tesla Group company will take care of designing, building and operating the photovoltaic (PV) plants under a cooperation agreement with its partner, it said on Thursday. Financial details about the contract were not disclosed.
The project is part of a wider initiative that will see all of ELI’s buildings in Romania be equipped with PV panels over the next three to five years. The initial 40-MW stage consists of covering with solar arrays more than 250,000 sq m (2,690 sq ft) of roof areas.
The inverters for the project will be supplied by Israel-based SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG).
“This partnership reflects our strategy to develop a sustainable portfolio that will allow our tenants to cover at least 30% of their consumption from green energy,” said Andrei Jerca, Managing Director of ELI.
