Australia puts green tick on 300-MW solar project in Queensland
Sep 20, 2024 6:04 CESTBolivia has officially put into 240-hour trial operations the 24-MW second phase of the Qollpana wind park in Pocona, Cochabamba department, Agencia Boliviana de Informacion (ABI) reported.
All eight units of 3-MW wind turbines at the site are successfully feeding their output into the National Interconnected System (SIN), Empresa Electrica Corani SA wind department head, Andres Dorado, told ABI. Empresa Electrica Corani, part of state-owned Empresa Nacional de Electricidad (Ende), is the company in charge of the project.
The scheme required an investment of USD 64.5 million (EUR 58.6m), according to the report.
Empresa Electrica Corani is now planning a second expansion of the facility, for which it has finished technical, economic, social and environmental studies. Valued at USD 95 million, it envisages the installation of 17 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 50 MW.
The first phase of the wind park was put on stream in 2014. It comprises two units of 1.5-MW turbines.
