Bureau Veritas buys renewables-focused consultancy ArcVera
Sep 04, 2024 12:38 CESTUS consulting and engineering services provider Tetra Tech Inc (NASDAQ:TTEK) has won a USD-500-million (EUR 455m) technical assistance contract for a programme that will promote renewables in developing countries.
The five-year contract comes from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and includes multiple awards. It is linked to the Energy II programme and calls for Tetra Tech to assist the agency in promoting renewable energy technologies, increasing energy security and bolstering energy sector reforms.
Tetra Tech said that its data scientists will assess energy markets, increase greater regional cooperation through cross-border trade and help improve the performance of utilities. At the same time, its energy specialists will be tasked with establishing a regulatory framework with clear and transparent rules to catalyse private sector investment.
Also, the firm will assist in improving national and local governments’ capacity to govern the energy sector and get ready for and respond to disasters, the announcement says.
