Clime Capital to invest up to USD 10m in Philippine solar firm UGEP
Sep 11, 2024 14:25 CESTSingapore-based renewables developer The Blue Circle has signed an agreement with entities of China’s Goldwind Science & Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002202) to buy Goldwind turbines for a 100.8-MW wind project in the Philippines.
Under the agreement, Goldwind will supply, commission and service the turbines for The Blue Circle’s Kalayaan 2 project in Laguna Province, the Singaporean firm said.
The order encompasses the supply and installation of 17 units of the GW 165-6.0 MW wind turbines and ten years of service.
Kalayaan 2 is set to become one of the largest wind farms in the Philippines, according to The Blue Circle. The company expects the project to reach commercial operation date in mid-2026.
This is the first project in the Philippines for The Blue Circle, which counts Spanish renewables company Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) among its shareholders. According to Acciona Energia, the construction of Kalayaan 2 is already underway.
