Sep 19, 2024 15:04 CESTMay 31, 2013 - This week reports say Wyoming Wind and Power is making steps for a 900-MW wind project, the EU imposes anti-dumping duties on biodiesel from Argentina and Indonesia and the US takes China’s first place in Ernst & Young's renewables index.
The Wyoming Wind Farm project envisages the installation of 300 turbines which are expected to start power generation in 2016 and reach full operations by December 2019. Wyoming Wind and Power intends to submit applications to state and local authorities in the summer and autumn of the current year, hoping to kick off construction this November.

RWE MIGHT GET EUR-500m EIB LOAN FOR 332-MW OFFSHORE WIND PARK
RWE is gearing up for two big projects. The German energy group said Thursday it has applied for an EUR-500-million (USD 649.5m) credit from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support the construction of a 332-MW wind park off Germany.
Earlier in the week, RWE npower renewables, together with UK utility SSE Plc (LON:SSE), got the government nod for the up-to-504-MW Galloper offshore wind park in eastern England.

US TAKES CHINA'S PLACE AS NUMBER-1 GREEN MARKET IN ERNST & YOUNG INDEX
As a result of comparatively high barriers to entry China lost to the US the top spot in the May 2013 edition of Ernst & Young’s renewable energy country attractiveness indices. The Asian country scored 70.7 points in total thanks to strong political backing for the sector, rising energy consumption and huge project pipeline. Yet the US booked 71.6 points.

BRITAIN WANTS 50% EMISSION REDUCTION TARGET BY 2030, OPPOSES RENEWABLES GOAL
The British government is calling for a 50% emissions reduction target by 2030 for the EU, based on 1990 levels, but believes that a renewable energy goal at the EU level is not necessary.

EU SETS PROVISIONAL DUMPING DUTIES ON BIODIESEL FROM ARGENTINA, INDONESIA
The EU will impose provisional anti-dumping duties on biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia with effect from May 29, it said Tuesday. For Argentina, the punitive tariffs will range between 6.8% to 10.6% or EUR 65.43 to EUR 104.92 per tonne. Indonesian imports will be subject to duties of 2.8%-9.6% or EUR 24.99 to EUR 83.84 per tonne. Only Ciliandra Perkasa PT from Indonesia will get zero duty.
