Bolivia's Hydrocarbons and Energy Ministry said last week it expects the country to add 411 MW of renewable energy to its power mix by 2020.

Bolivia anticipates to install a total of 2,954 MW of power generation capacity by 2020, which includes renewables in addition to thermal and hydro sources. For the purpose, the country will invest USD 5.85 billion (EUR 5.21bn) in projects across nine departments.

The country intends to explore its energy potential, aiming to become one of South America's energy hubs and to strengthen its economy.
