Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe government of Cape Verde intends, by this year end, to establish a company that will be responsible for developing the renewable energy sector in the country.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Jose Maria Neves on Sunday during the inauguration of an energy plant in Santo Antao region.
Under the name of Electra Renovaveis the firm will invest heavily in renewable energy with a focus on solar and wind sources, all abundant in the country, the Prime Minister said.
In recent years, the government has spent CVE 12 billion (USD 123.5m/EUR 108.8m) in building energy infrastructure in Cape Verde.
