The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) has started payments to fund 65 MW of solar projects to National Electricity Company (ENDE).

The bank lended a total of BOB 174 million (USD 25.1m/EUR 23.5m) to ENDE so it could build the 60-MW Planta Solar Uyuni Potosi and the 5-MW Planta Solar Yunchara Tarija facility.

Back in October, Bolivia's Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Luis Alberto Sanchez, said the country will reach 545 MW of renewable power generation by 2020, representing 12% of the country's total electrical generation.
