Netherlands-based Global Renewables Investments BV plans to make an initial investment of around EUR 90 million (USD 82.5m) in the construction of wind and solar parks in Iran, it announced.

The renewables developer said in a statement on its website it has entered into an agreement on the matter during a state visit by the Dutch government to Iran. It gave no details about the planned projects.

Global Renewables Investments anticipates to deliver bankable renewable energy projects in partnership with Iranian firms Sheedsun, Energy Pak Soroush Hormozan, Lalehaye Khonin va Isargaran Khaf, as well as German company Greenmatech and Chinese engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor SUMEC.
