to-the-point: EnCap Investments to scout energy transition ventures Wind turbines. Author: Jaime Rey.

US energy-focused venture capital firm EnCap Investments LP announced Monday it will take advantage of the global transition to low-carbon energy systems to pursue opportunities in the clean energy sector.

EnCap said its transition efforts will focus on solar, wind and natural gas power generation boosted by low-cost battery storage systems. The firm rounded up a team of four industry experts to shepherd the new venture.

According to EnCap managing partner Doug Swanson, while fossil fuels will keep their role in meeting global energy demand, renewables are projected to be the fastest-growing source of power in North America.
