to-the-point: German firms seek renewables alliances in Cape Verde

German businessmen representing eight different companies are visiting Cape Verde this week to make proposals in the areas of energy efficiency and renewable energy.

During the first German-Cape Verde Energy Symposium held yesterday, German firm IBAT Payer GmbH offered its experience in the planning and construction of biogas plants, sewage treatment plants and other renewable energy facilities, local news agency Inforpress reported.

The German entrepreneurs expect this visit to turn into major partnerships between the two countries, making Cape Verde their entry platform into the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) market, according to the report.
