to-the-point: Guatemalan Horus Energy puts online 30-MW PV plant

Guatemalan company Horus Energy has put on stream a 30-MW extension of its photovoltaic (PV) park near the city of Chiquimulilla, the country's wholesale power market administrator said in its report for July.

According to Horus Energy, part of the energy division of Grupo Onyx, the park has an installed capacity of 94 MWp, 80 MW net, contracted by private power distributors in competition with other generation technologies.

The first 50-MW phase was completed in the first months of 2015, while Horus II began commercial operations on July 26.
