India’s Union Cabinet has approved the signing of a pact on renewable energy cooperation with Seychelles, according to an official announcement on Wednesday.

The two countries have signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in March 2015, during the visit of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi to Seychelles. The goal of the alliance is to beef up, promote and develop renewable energy cooperation between the countries for mutual benefits.

In addition, the pact will help bolster bilateral cooperation between India and Seychelles in the particular field, the statement says.
