to-the-point: JA Solar ships half-cell modules for project in Namibia Sunrise in Namibia. Author: Holger Wirth.

Chinese solar power products maker JA Solar Holdings Co Ltd (NASDAQ:JASO) said today it has supplied half-cell modules totalling 6.5 MW for a project in Namibia.

This is the first application of half-cell modules in utility scale projects, JA Solar said in a statement. The company claims that this type of module optimises interconnection technology, cuts resistance loss, boosts current flow and has a better temperature coefficient compared with conventional offerings.

The project was developed by SunEQ GmbH and Gildemeister Energy Solutions GmbH. The latter is in charge of the construction work.
