German firm Medio Energy Invest GmbH & Co KG is planning to build in Iran about 70 MW of wind and solar power generation capacity.

It has struck a memorandum of understanding (MoU) struck with the Khuzestan Regional Electricity Company (KREC), says a report by the Mehr News Agency. The planned investment amounts to USD 108 million (EUR 103.6m).

On Sunday the news agency cited KREC head Mahmoud Dashtbozorg as saying that Medio Energy will build a 20-MW solar park in Shushtar and a 50-MW wind farm in Bandar-e-Mahshahr.

Other European and Asian firms are also planning to build renewable energy capacities in Iran according to press releases and reports in recent months.
