Moldova's Orhei municipality has today issued a tender for the procurement of a compact combined heat and power (CHP) plant.

The value of the contract is EUR 226,500 (USD 266,500). The plant should be fuelled by solid biomass and use biomass gasification and gas engine to generate electricity and heat.

The tendering period is due to start on June 12 and run till July 27.

The municipality has received an EU grant as part of the Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects (CoM-DeP): Comprehensive demonstrational project for sustainable energy development in the town of Orhei.
