US company Natcore Technology (CVE:NXT) said on Tuesday it will be overseeing development of a 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the small town of Placencia, Belize.

The nanotechnology firm will guide New York-based developer Catalyst565 Inc in procuring components for the project. In addition, it will oversee the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.

Natcore noted it plans a hurricane-proof array for this installation. The planned solar park will take up an area of 90 acres (36.4 ha).

The company won this job through its “Best of Breed” programme, under which it serves as a consultant on the design and construction of solar cell and panel factories and solar power generation facilities.
