Portugal's photovoltaic (PV) firm Boa Energia will begin selling its do-it-yourself installation kits, focused on reducing homes and business electricity bills, in Mozambique.

Boa Energia will operate in the country with a local partner, the company’s director general, Nuno Brito Jorge told Portuguese news agency Lusa.

The company will debut in Mozambique with an urban development project in Maputo starting in November 2015.

Via its online outlet Boa Energia sells PV kits, manufactured by Open Renewables, another Portuguese company.

The PV panels delivered in Mozambique will be specially redesigned for the African market where electricity grids are unstable and often batteries are needed to store the energy produced.
