American-Spanish company Real Infrastructure has started the construction works on the 17.8-MW Trinidad y Marquez solar plant in El Savador.

The plant, to be up and running in eight months, represents an investment of USD 50 million (EUR 46.5m), the local government announced during the ground breaking ceremony held last week.

Real Infrastructure is expected to increase its investment in the country to USD 150 million with ten new energy projects in four different municipalities. The company focuses on investing in renewable energy projects in Latin American markets.
