German solar module maker and power producer Recom said on Wednesday it has commissioned a 12.5-MW solar farm in the coastal town of Puerto Sandino, western Nicaragua.

Recom added it has already moved on to the project’s second stage, which will also have a capacity of 12.5 MW.

The company installed the Phase I plant in less than five months. The facility uses more than 46,000 units of Recom’s 270-Wp Black Panther mono photovoltaic (PV) modules that have the combined capacity to produce some 18.18 GWh of electricity a year.
