German-based solar module manufacturer Recom said Thursday its modules have been selected for an 11.9-MW project in Cyprus.

The development consists of ground-mounted solar parks in five locations across the country, which are among the first solar projects of that scale in Cyprus, the company said.

The customer is investment company CYPV Energy Ltd, which has majority participation in the project.

A total of more than 45,000 of Recom's 60-cell 260-W Amur Leopard panels will be installed at the sites.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is supporting the construction, development and operation of the five systems with a loan of EUR 10 million (USD 11.1m).
