to-the-point: Sky becomes latest member of 100% renewable power club

UK media company Sky plc has joined the RE100 initiative with a goal to source 100% renewable power by 2020 where available.

The campaign, led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP, already counts 56 large companies committed to 100% renewable electricity as its members.

Sky already sources most of its electricity from renewables globally, according to an announcement last week on RE100's website. The company's managed sites in the UK and Ireland are powered either by its own on-site renewable energy plants or through a renewable energy tariff. Sky now plans to assume the same approach in Italy, Germany and Austria.
