Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe government of Sri Lanka is looking to award 90 MW of solar power generating capacity, distributed between 90 small-scale projects of 1 MW each.
Ravi Karunanayake, Power, Energy and Business Development Minister, said so in Parliament last week, as cited by local media. According to the minister, 76 projects have already been selected as part of the tender programme.
Karunanayake also stated that the government has not yet introduced an official standardisation for solar photovoltaic (PV) panels in order to avoid accusations of favouring one country over the other. Currently, Sri Lanka imports PV modules from countries such as China and EU nations.
