Italian renewables, energy efficiency and waste management firm TerniEnergia (BIT:TER) said on Wednesday it has established a subsidiary in Mozambique to participate in African renewable energy and smart energy developments.

The new subsidiary is called TerniEnergia Company Mocambique Limitada and is based in Maputo. It will be taking part in projects for the construction of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants across the continent.

TerniEnergia pointed out that this move is part of its development strategy and business internationalisation. It gave no details about potential projects.
