Vistra agrees USD 3.25bn buyout of zero-carbon energy unit
Sep 19, 2024 11:01 CESTThe administration of US president Donald Trump is again proposing a significant cut in the budget of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Bloomberg reports, citing sources.
The fiscal 2020 budget request, expected today, will contain just USD 700 million (EUR 621.3m) for EERE, as compared to a current budget of USD 2.3 billion, according to the report.
The White House has previously made attempts to cut the EERE budget, again by roughly two-thirds for fiscal 2019 and for fiscal 2018, but Congress did not allow it.
