The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on Friday said it will provide a grant to Buipe Solar Ltd, a Ghanaian firm with a 20-MW solar project, to support the feasibility study.

US company WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff will be the one to do the study for developer BioTherm Energy. The US firm has been selected as a technical services partner.

The USTDA says the solar project in northern Ghana represents an opportunity of up to USD 17.4 million (EUR 16m) for US exports of photovoltaic (PV) modules, inverters, racks, and engineering services. According to reports, the grant from the agency amounts to USD 860,000.
