Finland’s Wartsila Corp (HEL:WRT1V) unveiled on Thursday an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract it has signed to deliver an energy storage solution to South East Asia.

The system will have 100 MW/100 MWh of total capacity, the technology group said without providing details on the project location and client. The facility will use the GEMS energy management software to ease the integration of renewables and turn them into baseload power, as well as the GridSolv, a proprietary solution for grid support purposes.

As an EPC contractor, Wartsila Energy Business has delivered more than 35 projects totalling 1,500 MW to South East Asia, the company said.
