US govt to invest USD 20m to improve renewables siting, agrivoltaics
Sep 11, 2024 10:51 CESTUS biofuels producer Santa Maria Renewable Resources (SMRR) has selected technology and engineering partners for its renewable fuels and sustainable agriculture project currently in development in East Texas.
Danish decarbonisation solutions supplier Topsoe came on board the project after signing licensing and engineering agreements with SMRR to provide its proprietary HydroFlex and H2bridge technologies. These technologies will enable the East Texas plant to reduce the carbon intensity of the renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.
SMRR also partnered with Texas-based engineering firm Chemex Global, a Shaw Group company, which will work on the front-end engineering design for the proposed facility.
SMRR’s East Texas plant is expected to be able to produce up to 3,000 barrels of renewable diesel and SAF per day. The project will create 600-700 construction jobs and 300-plus permanent operating employment positions, SMRR said.
