TotalEnergies Gaz & Electricite Holdings SAS, part of French oil and gas group TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTE), has filed for antitrust approval to buy Warsaw-based Polska Grupa Biogazowa (PGB), active in biogas power generation, Polish antitrust regulator UOKiK said on Wednesday.

PGB has over a dozen combined heat and power (CHP) plants, which convert bio-waste into green electricity and heat. It also provides services for the renewable energy sector, such as wood drying, collection of biomass and management of biogas plants.

Currently, it is working on another 13 projects in various locations in Poland, according to information available on its website. In 2021, the biogas plant specialist expanded into solar energy as well.

TotalEnergies's unit is focused on the mining and processing of oil and gas but is also active in renewable energy.
