Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTElsewedy Electric (CAI:SWDY) of Egypt and Toyota Tsusho Corp (TYO:8015) of Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a joint solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Zambia.
According to local media, the companies will install 100 MW in two parks in Sesheke and Mongu. The plan, supported by the energy ministry of Zambia, also includes battery storage capacity.
The MoU between Elsewedy and Toyota Tsusho was signed last week at the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7). There, Toyota Tsusho has also agreed to work with Windlab, Eurus, Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvestment) and the Meru County Government on the development of a model hybrid wind-solar-energy storage project in Meru.
