Trailstone Group, a global energy trader and provider of renewable energy management services, has started providing aggregation services for a 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) park in southern Portugal.

The company is in charge of the physical route-to-market services for the solar farm as part of its first such deal in Portugal, it announced on Monday.

Trailstone will use its tools to manage balancing risk and power sales for the asset on the OMIE power exchange, the Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for the Iberian Peninsula.

“We are proud to establish our business in Portugal and offer aggregation services backed by our advanced proprietary risk management and energy trading optimization platform. This is a pivotal step in consolidating Trailstone’s presence in the entire Iberian market,” said Goncalo Ferreira, Director of Origination Iberia at Trailstone Group.

The Portuguese government is targeting 85% of its electricity to be met from renewable sources by 2030.
