Equinor, Iberdrola reportedly back out of renewables in several markets
Aug 30, 2024 14:47 CESTChinese solar manufacturer Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599) announced the start of the manufacturing of 210-mm monocrystalline silicon wafers at its new multi-gigawatt factory in Vietnam.
The factory is located in the city of Thai Nguyen, 80 kilometres (49.7 miles) north of Hanoi, and has an annual production capacity of 6.5 GW for wafer, 4 GW for cells and 5 GW for modules. It was launched in operation earlier in August.
The output of the new plant, which employs 700 people, will be primarily used in cell and module production at Trina Solar's sites in Vietnam and Thailand, including Trina Solar's supply to the US market.
“With this new capacity, Trina Solar will have greater flexibility in being able to deliver its products worldwide,” the company noted in the press release.
