Trina Storage, the energy storage business of Chinese solar panel maker Trina Solar Co Ltd (SHA:688599), announced it has completed the delivery of a fully integrated 25-MW/50-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for a hybrid solar-plus-storage site installed over fish ponds in China.

The newly-built 400-MW solar power generating plant and the co-located BESS, which are situated in Tianmen, Hubei, have already been switched on.

Trina Storage’s contract for the hybrid fishery-solar-storage project included the provision of a 1500 VDC energy storage system, comprising ten 2.5-MW/5-MWh of its battery cabinets. The storage units use precision thermal management technology for uniform heat dissipation at rack level, leading to enhanced battery lifetime, the company noted.
