Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTTunisia will be looking for international proposals to add 2,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, according to the country’s energy minister.
For this purpose, the government intends to kick off tenders in June, minister Naila Nouira was quoted by Reuters as saying on Thursday. The idea is to reduce the country’s dependence on natural gas imports.
Tunisia needs to add about 3.8 GW of green power capacity as it seeks to boost the share of renewables to 30% by 2030.
A couple of months back, the state gave the green light to several solar projects with a combined output of 500 MW, awarded as part of the country's concession system in 2019.
