European Energy, Centrica ink balancing deals for Lithuanian renewables
Sep 13, 2024 14:50 CESTRenewables developer Green Genius, part of the Lithuanian Modus Group, announced the start of turbine erection works as part of phase one of the 80-MW wind project in the district of Jurbarkas, southwestern Lithuania.
The first of a total of 11 Nordex turbines has already been installed at the site. The rest of the machines are on their way, with the delivery expected to be finalised by the end of the month at the latest, according to a statement released today.
The first stage of the EUR-100-million (USD 108.6m) Jurbarkas project will see the installation of 63 MW of power generating capacity which is set to go live in 2025. The turbines will be erected 240 metres (787 ft) above the ground on foundations with a diameter of 25.5 meters.
An additional 17 MW will be added later on. That phase of the project is expected to achieve a ready-to-build status soon, Green Genius said.
