Fiba Group unit eyes EBRD loan for 75 MW of new solar in Turkey
Sep 17, 2024 15:21 CESTGerman wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said today it has secured an order from a unit of Turkish project development and construction group Ronesans Holding to equip three projects with a combined capacity of 189 MW.
The order concerns the supply of 27 N163/6.X turbines, which will be mounted on 113-meter (370 ft) steel towers, and also includes a ten-year turbine servicing contract, according to a press statement.
The largest of the projects is the 12-turbine Sagilusagi site in the province of Malatya in Eastern Anatolia which targets a total capacity of 84 MW. Nordex will also deliver eight turbines for the 56-MW Osmancik project in Corum and seven turbines for the 49-MW Kayalar site to be launched in Sivas.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the three facilities is Heitkamp Industrial Solutions GmbH, a German-based construction subsidiary of Ronesans Enerji.
“With these 3 new projects with Nordex, our total installed capacity will increase to 355 MW. We aim to continue growing with a 100% renewable energy portfolio and aspire to become one of Turkiye’s top 3 green energy companies,” said Emre Hatem, vice president of the board of Ronesans Enerji.
Ronesans Enerji is a subsidiary of the Turkish construction group that currently has a 166-MW portfolio of hydropower plants and a 700-MW-plus pipeline of wind, solar and battery storage projects. In July, Ronesans Holding agreed to sell a 50% stake in the business to French energy group TotalEnergies SE.
