The components for the first 14 wind turbines of the Aluar wind farm in Argentina are being transported to the El Llano site, where they will be installed, El Patagonico reported.

Shipment of the blades and towers started on Wednesday.

The wind farm is a project of Argentine aluminum producer Aluar Aluminio Argentino SAIC (BCBA:ALUA) and will help the company meet requirements for large electricity users to source a portion of their demand from renewables.

Aluar has ordered the turbines, with a capacity of 3.6 MW each, from Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS). The Danish wind turbine manufacturer in December announced a second 50-MW order for the El Llano wind park's second phase.

According to El Patagonico, the reinforced concrete foundations for the first 14 wind turbines have been completed. Civil works are managed by Infa SA.
