Turkish renewables developer Dost Enerji has secured financing for a 50-MW wind power project in native Turkey, the company's bank announced on Monday.

Spanish lender BBVA (BME:BBVA) said that its Turkish unit Garanti BBVA (IST:GARAN) provided EUR 36.1 million (USD 39.5m) in financing to support the project. With the latest lending agreement, the installed wind power capacity financed by Garanti BBVA will increase to 235 MW from 185 MW, the Spanish bank said.

Dost Enerji will use the funds for the Isiklar wind project, also referred to as the Galatya project. The company acquired the scheme from UK’s RES Group last year.

Isiklar/Galatya will consist of eight Nordex wind turbines -- four of 5.9 MW and four of 6.8 MW of capacity, according to Dost Enerji’s website. The wind farm is due to be commissioned in 2024.
