Germany’s Enercon announced today a contract for the delivery of 21 turbines with a combined capacity of 110.5 MW for wind power projects developed by Turkish renewables company Polat Enerji.

The machines will be used for the expansion of the Yalova/Goktepe 4, Kirsehir/Geycek 3 and Izmir/Ege 3 projects. The order is for 19 of Enercon’s E-160 EP5 turbines and two of its E-82 turbines, the wind turbine manufacturer said in a social media post.

Apart from the supply of the equipment, the German company will also be in charge of the installation and maintenance.

“Our current installed capacity is 735 MW and 31 MW capacity extension wind farm projects are under construction. We are pleased to advance our commitment to wind energy in Turkiye together with Enercon and to increase our total onshore capacity to 876 MW through the new projects,” said Neset Ozgur Cireli, Polat Energy board member.
