German renewables developer PNE recruits Heiko Wuttke as new CEO
Sep 20, 2024 14:12 CEST(ADPnews) - Jun 1, 2011 - German shipbuilder P+S Werften GmbH said it will turn its sites in Wolgast and Stralsund, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, into specialised locations serving the offshore wind power industry.
For this purpose, the company will retrain the personnel at the two locations, increasing the workers' expertise in the field of welding technology. This will enable the two shipyards to accept orders for specialised ships and equipment for constructing, maintaining and repairing offshore wind farms.
In addition, P+S Werften plans to set up a steel competence centre in Stralsund. In this connection, the steel construction work for two ships ordered by the Swedish Coast Guard will be done in Stralsund rather than in Wolgast where previous orders for the Swedish Coast Guard were executed.
